Accelerated Reader (AR) is an educational program created by Renaissance Learning. We use the STAR test to find a student’s reading level and to determine a ZONE for that student. STAR is a computer generated multiple-choice test that looks at a student’s vocabulary. We give the test at least three times a year in order to track progress.
With Accelerated Reader, a student reads a book, takes an online quiz, and gets immediate feedback. Students respond to regular feedback and are motivated to improve their reading skills.
