12 Ιουλ 2017 · A star about the size of Saturn, called EBLM J0555-57Ab, is the smallest ever measured by a team of Cambridge researchers. It has just enough mass to fuse hydrogen into helium and is part of a binary system with a larger companion.

In 2017, an international team of astronomers announced the discovery of a so-called red dwarf star that’s so small it barely functions as a star. Code-named EBLM J0555-57Ab and lying some 600 light-years away, it’s similar in size to the planet Saturn.
12 Ιουλ 2017 · EBLM J0555-57Ab is a tiny star with a mass of 85 Jupiter masses and a radius of 30 percent smaller than TRAPPIST-1. It was found by accident while looking for exoplanets with the WASP experiment.
