Minecraft has been working fine until we got Windows 8.1 a few days ago. It kept bugging me to update, then I finally snapped. So i did it, and now i get this error.
24 Μαρ 2014 · Windows 8.1. / Gaming. I get minecraft to open then I get into a world or server and I can play for about 2 minutes then it drops me to 0 fps and I check compatibility and it finds it and says Fixing Minecraft Completed.
1.) Update your video drivers to Windows 8 drivers provided by the manufacturer. 2.) Download and install Java 32bit for Windows 8. (you can install 64-bit too, but I will explain this later) 2.) Add an exclusion to Minecraft.exe for Windows Defender. Instructions here: http://imgur.com/41uJ8 3.)
9 Νοε 2014 · I had Minecraft runnning perfectly fine on my laptop on Windows 8. After updating to Windows 8.1, I've been having some problems. When I open the game, it has lag/stuttering, and some chunks either flicker out of control or don't load at all. Is there any known fix for this?
I recently upgraded from windows 7 to 8.1 and have only had this problem since upgrading. When playing minecraft 1.7.10, if I switch to another window (say, I minimize minecraft to use skype or chrome,) then go back to minecraft, everything appears normal.
My windows 8.1 laptop with Intel hd 4000 graphics, i5 dual core and 8gb ram runs minecraft 1.8 at 40 fps fairly consistently. I don't know what you can do besides make sure you have the latest java 8 and put your power settings on high performance.
