4 Οκτ 2024 · The ulnar nerve is a major peripheral nerve of the upper limb. In this article, we shall look at the applied anatomy of the nerve - its anatomical course, motor functions and cutaneous innervation. We shall also consider the clinical correlations of the damage to the ulnar nerve.
21 Οκτ 2016 · Origin. Ulnar nerve comes from the medial cord of the brachial plexus (C8-T1) Course. Arm. lies posteromedial to brachial artery in anterior compartment of upper 1/2 arm. pierces medial IM septum at the arcade of Struthers ~ 8cm from medial epicondyle and lies medial to the triceps.
The ulnar nerve is a nerve that runs near the ulna, one of the two long bones in the forearm. The ulnar collateral ligament of elbow joint is in relation with the ulnar nerve. The nerve is the largest in the human body unprotected by muscle or bone, so injury is common. [1]
The ulnar nerve runs down the hand, where it passes behind the medial epicondyle of the humerus at the elbow. The ulnar nerve doesn’t give branches in the axilla or in the upper arm. It starts with muscular and cutaneous branches in the upper forearm and hand.
24 Ιουλ 2023 · The ulnar nerve is one of the 5 terminal branches of the brachial plexus, arising from the medial cord. It supplies motor and sensory innervation to the upper extremity. The ulnar nerve originates from contributions of the ventral rami of C8 and T1 nerve roots.
25 Σεπ 2024 · The ulnar nerve enters the forearm from the arm in between the two heads of the flexor carpi ulnaris (FCU) muscle. It subsequently lies superficial to flexor digitorum profundus, deep to FCU and medial to the ulnar artery. It courses distally along the ulnar aspect of the forearm and at the wrist, the ulnar nerve runs lateral to the tendon of FCU.
