15 Μαρ 2003 · For this purpose we prepared protoplasts from blue and red hydrangea sepals and analyzed color and vacuolar pH of each individual cell by micro-spectrophotometry and an intracellular microelectrode method.
1 Απρ 2023 · According to previous research, all hydrangea sepal colors develop from one simple anthocyanin, delphinidin-3-glucoside (Takeda et al., 1985), which combines with 5-O-caffeoylquinic acid and/or 5-O-p-coumaroylquinic acid and Al 3+ in a ratio of 1:1:1 to form the blue complex in the blue sepals of H. macrophylla (Ito et al., 2018).
1 Ιαν 1985 · These results suggest that blue colour of hydrangea sepals is due mainly to the blue complex of delphinidin 3-glucoside-aluminium-3-caffeoylquinic acid. The role of aluminium may be to stabilize an interaction between the quinic ester and the anthocyanin.
5 Απρ 2016 · Typical sepal colors of Hydrangea cultivars are red, purple, and blue. The sepal color of many Hydrangea cultivars depends on cultivation conditions (Allen, 1943). Cultivation in soil with lower pH, which contains more soluble aluminum ions than soil with higher pH, results in generation of bluer sepals (Allen, 1943; Chenery, 1937).
The original sepal color of Hydrangea macrophylla is blue, although it is well known that sepal color easily changes from blue through purple to red.
25 Φεβ 2013 · In hydrangea sepals, an aluminum complex of delphinidin-3- O -glucoside is responsible for the development of the blue color, and co-existing copigments mediate the solubilization and stabilization of the blue Al-anthocyanin complex which is localized in the sepal vacuole.
