The most used symbol for the diminished chord is a little circle above the letter of the chord: C °. But some authors also use the “dim” notation: Cdim. An easy way to think of the diminished chord is to remember the interval of “three semitones”, since all the degrees of the diminished chord have three semitones of distance between them.
