What you can do is set the DuckDuckGo website as the startup page for your browser so each time that you will open your browser, it will open DuckDuckGo right away. If you are using Edge, follow the steps below.
Click the Search engine used in the address bar dropdown; you should now see DuckDuckGo; select it. If you'd also like to use DuckDuckGo instead of Bing on the New Tab Page, click on the Search on new tabs uses search box or address bar dropdown and select Address bar. Close the Settings page and test your new defaults.
Right-click on Powershell to run as admin. In the powershell windows, copy/paste or type the following command always: Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$ ($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"} Restart PC. Try again to set DuckDuckGo as your default browser.
12 Ιουλ 2023 · To reset Edge settings : - Open the Edge browser. - Click on the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner. - Go to "Settings" and select "Reset settings" from the sidebar. - Click on the "Restore settings to their default values" option. - Restart the Edge browser and check if DuckDuckGo launches properly.
You have set DDG as the search engine to be used when you type your search terms in the address bar, whatever page you're on. You can also specify that when you search from the New Tab Page, you want to get results from DDG. The page that opens when you open Edge is specified at ⋯ (Settings and more) > Settings > On start-up.

28 Σεπ 2021 · If the issue still persists, You may need to consider performing a Reset of Microsoft Edge. Open Edge then click 3 dots > Settings. Select Reset Settings > Restore settings to their default values. Click Reset. Restart your computer. After that, please try to set DuckDuckGo again. Edge > Click 3 dots > Settings.
13 Ιαν 2022 · I have applied the instructions concerning the Browser and the Search Engine. I have the Duck in my address bar. But when I click and open the Duck, I don’t have any of my tabs with the bookmarks. I have EarthLink as my home page and Microsoft forces me to have Edge as well. There are some pages that will not open in DuckDuckgo.com.
I would like to have DuckDuckGo to open as default when I open the new tab, but I can't find a way to do it. Is MS trying to limit access to other search engines? Why are you forcing us to use Bing?
