Never assume any site is safe. Take reasonable precautions and care. sites can get hacked or worse. For roms, There is the site being "safe". Then there's the rom files you are downloading. Being safe or not. Two very distinct things. Numerous roms have known checksums and can be verified.

8 Μαΐ 2022 · Old games are still being sold by their publishers and made playable through emulators too. You can buy them and extract the ROMs and play on any emulator you like. Some sources: SNK stuff on GOG. SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Classics on Steam. Order Intellivision ROMs. Even new games are developed for old platforms and sold.
6 Φεβ 2011 · Operating an emulator is easy. Just download it, tweak the settings to your liking, download some ROM images, and then play. When changing the settings, be sure to change the control scheme to your liking and select some filters. Filters are algorithms that change the way the game is displayed.
Rom Files cannot be infected with viruses. Each site is unique, but over time there are tricks to figure out how to get the rom files. I recommend installing Universal Bypass, it works very well. Alot of times the Giant download button is an ad that will try to get you to download an exe file. Watch out for that.
Here is a list of games I know for a fact are masterpieces: Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (PSP) Deus Ex (PS2) All three Danganronpas (many possible platforms including native Android) All three Zero Escape games (DS and 3DS) Hitman 2, 3, and 4 (all on PS2, 2 can be played on GameCube) Honorable mention: Peter Jackson's King Kong (GameCube).

Recently there have been advancements in getting Xenia Canary to work through Proton, so that you don't need to use Windows.
