The Croatian euro coins are a set of euro coins currently being minted by the Croatian Mint since July 2022. [1] [2] [3] They are the official euro coins with the national motif of Croatia. The euro was introduced as a replacement for the Croatian kuna on 1 January 2023. [4]
Croatia has chosen four designs for their national sides of the euro coins, all featuring the distinctive Croatian chequerboard pattern in the background. All the coins also depict the 12 stars of the European flag.

Croatia. The design of the national side of the Croatian euro coins was selected following a public design competition and voting. The 2€ coin depicts a geographical map of the Republic of Croatia with the Croatian checkerboard in the background.
The design features the inscriptions of the issuing country "HRVATSKA" (Croatia) and the year of issuance "2023.", depicted horizontally, as well as the words "ČLANICA EUROPODRUČJA" (member of the euro area), which are inscribed along the outer edge of the coin’s core.
