7 Νοε 2006 · Despite the well-known limitations of the standard exercise ECG for diagnosing obstructive coronary disease, the exercise test continues to have substantial diagnostic and prognostic value when measures beyond simple ST-segment depression are considered.
1 Ιουλ 1997 · Exercise testing may be used to evaluate patients with symptoms that suggest exercise-induced arrhythmias, such as syncope. The usefulness of exercise testing in such patients varies, depending on the arrhythmia in question, which may include ventricular arrhythmias, supraventricular arrhythmias, atrioventricular block, and sinus node dysfunction.
Evaluation of the exercise stress test, with emphasis on ischemic and non-ischemic ECG reactions, blood pressure, heart rate, symptoms & performance.
The whole purpose of the exercise ECG is to provoke physiological reactions that are not noticeable at rest. Hence, the examination may only be considered conclusive if the achieved workload is sufficient to provoke symptoms/signs that are not noticeable during rest.
