  1. 12 Δεκ 2023 · Sigh. The point is the tests are always off because it's the wrong test. It doesn't matter what kind of speed test you throw at it- a multi-hop connection is only going to run as fast as the slowest hop. Routing protocols tend to prefer faster links, but sometimes there just isn't a path from you to point B without going through a 30Mbps ...

  2. 11 Φεβ 2021 · And fast.com was not busy, or closer to you, or whatever. Like all tests, the bigger and more varied the sample size, the closer you'll get to your true results. Test more widely to get a better feel for your likely true speed. But in the real world, anything above 100Mbps will probably feel snappy and responsive, given reasonable latency.

  3. 1 Δεκ 2022 · Ookla reported 814 down and 579 up to Magna5 and 478 down and 718 up to Consolidated Communications Inc. Speeds vary depending on which server it connects to and how busy they are. I prefer the results from Ookla, real world results are probably closer to Google, and Testmy.net seems slower than the rest. astalush.

  4. 21 Δεκ 2021 · Type "speedtest" and the test runs and displays the result. As the test bypasses the browser, it is free of effects from scripts and such. Connect your PC to your internet output by Ethernet (No Wifi). That way you know what the ISP is providing to you. 2.

  5. One of the two available ISPs in my area prioritizes speedtest.net traffic by a huge margin. Most other HTTP/S traffic bursts at 60-150 (package dependant) then settles to a cozy 15Mbps. Also, we need to use a VPN to avoid torrent and voip (internet phone) traffic pushed to 1.5Mbps. Use a test that isn't cached.

Speedtest.net (ookla) shows your raw internet speed. Fast.com shows your speed to watch a video on YouTube for example. 6. Reply. samuelsingh_14 • 1 yr. ago.

  7. 20 Σεπ 2021 · Speed tests rely on time to establish consistent speed test result, not the amount of data tested. So 467Mbps is 58MBps. At those speeds, it would take less than 9 seconds to eat up half a GB. It's not unreasonable to take 9 seconds to establish what your download speed is. A quick 1 second test at 58MBps is too fast to get good results.

  8. A speed test is a way to tell if there's an issue, but doesn't actually tell you where the issue is. Things like the wifi signal strength, channel width, NAT firewall, and provider connectivity play into it. A speedtest can tell you 1,000mbps & it won't matter because no service on the internet an send you that much data.

  9. Fast.com is run by Netflix and is generally considered a reliable indicator of performance, particularly for streaming. Ookla's speedtest.com is more popular, probably because of search engine results when people look up speed test. I actually prefer speed.cloudflare.com because it gives me more detailed analysis.

  10. 17 Σεπ 2023 · Speedtest Tracker, iPerf3 and LibreSpeed can all be installed in docker. Or iPerf3 is included in the SynoCommunity's SynoCli Monitor Tools package. As iPerf3 is a command line tool you'll need SSH access. I have openspeedtest.com installed in a docker container. I previously had LibreSpeed setup, but with the latest DSM update, they updated ...
