To add accents or special characters, use the number pad on your keyboard with Num Lock turned on. Press and hold Alt. Type the numeric code (see below) on the number pad and release Alt.
18 Σεπ 2019 · Take a glimpse at other languages, and you’ll discover all sorts of accent marks and punctuation that looks unfamiliar. Accent marks are called diacritics and they’re used in languages derived from Latin, like French or Spanish.
Hold down the Alt key on your keyboard. Whilst still holding on to the Alt key, press the character’s alt code. For example, to type e with an acute accent (é), press and hold the Alt key, then type the alt code 0233 on the numeric keypad. Now release the Alt key. You should see the accented letter inserted as soon as you release the Alt key.

In Word and Outlook, you can use accent marks (or diacritical marks) in a document, such as an acute accent, cedilla, circumflex, diaeresis or umlaut, grave accent, or tilde. For keyboard shortcuts in which you press two or more keys simultaneously, the keys to press are separated by a plus sign (+) in the tables.
