Start indoors six weeks before the last frost date in your area or plant in the garden when the soil can be worked. If you live in a hot climate, grow parsley as a cool-season annual. In the peak of summer, parsley may die, so it’s best to plant it in the fall for spring harvest in frost-free climates.
Parsley seeds can be sown directly in the garden 2-4 weeks before the last spring frost or indoors (e.g., in the house or a greenhouse) 8-10 weeks before that time. To improve and accelerate germination, a pre-soaking (in water 12-24 hours before planting) of the seeds might be needed.
