Die Grumman X-29 ist ein Experimentalflugzeug mit negativ gepfeilten Flügeln.Teile des Rumpfes wurden von der F-5 Tiger (bzw. der aus der F-5 hervorgegangenen einmotorigen F-20) übernommen.Ebenso flossen aus Kostengründen Teile der F-16 und der F-18 ein. Das Flugzeug selbst wurde für den Notfall mit einem speziellen Bremsschirm zur Beendigung kritischer Flugzustände ausgestattet.

10 Φεβ 2016 · On Dec. 13, 1985, the X-29 became the first forward-swept-wing airplane in the world to exceed Mach 1 in level flight, and flight results showed that a highly unstable aircraft with forward-swept wings could be flown safely with excellent maneuverability and high G-loads.
