Each spot of DNA microarray contains single-stranded DNA corresponding to a gene. Produces relative expression of genes in normal vs disease tissue samples. cDNA will bind to the corresponding DNA strands on microarray. Color indicates ratio of cDNA (relative gene expression) in the normal vs disease tissue.
