1 Μαρ 2005 · The measurement of inhibin A has clinical value in women at early pregnancy with impending abortion or hydatiform mole. The increase of serum inhibin A in Down's syndrome pregnancies may have a clinical value, because it improves the prenatal detection of the disease.

Inhibin, hormone secreted by the granulosa cells in the ovaries of women that acts primarily to inhibit the secretion of follicle-stimulating hormone by the anterior pituitary gland. Since the major action of follicle-stimulating hormone is to stimulate the formation and function of granulosa.
Inhibin B expression and secretion are positively correlated with Sertoli cell function, sperm number, and spermatogenic status and are negatively correlated with FSH. This review covers the most recent advances on the role of inhibins in human reproductive function.
Pathophysiology. Inhibin is produced by different cell types at different times during the male and female life cycle. 2 most clinically important subunits are alpha and beta (other isoforms include betaC and betaE) (Reprod Biol Endocrinol 2010;8:143)
1 Ιαν 2023 · Inhibin is effectively important for the control of reproductive functions in mammalians. It also produced during pregnancy in females from different foetal structure whereas it is...
13 Απρ 2021 · Conclusions: For healthy reproductive age women, the decline of inhibin B can reflect decreased ovarian reserve effectively, having a good consistency with AMH and AFC. More importantly, inhibin B had an advantage in predicting AFC <5-7 compared with FSH, which suggested the potential of inhibin B in predicting ovarian response.
1 Οκτ 2014 · Dynamic regulation of inhibin and activin subunit mRNA and proteins is highly dependent on developmental age and endocrine status in both women and men. There are considerable species differences in the expression of activin and inhibin subunits in females.
