The recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) is a branch of the vagus nerve (cranial nerve X) that supplies all the intrinsic muscles of the larynx, with the exception of the cricothyroid muscles. There are two recurrent laryngeal nerves, right and left.

20 Απρ 2024 · The RLN's anatomy differs depending on its laterality. The right RLN branches from the vagus nerve near the right subclavian artery and loops around the artery. The left RLN diverges from the vagus nerve and bends around the aortic arch distal to the ligamentum arteriosum.
