Two-step verification (sometimes called multi-factor authentication) helps protect you by making it more difficult for someone else to sign in to your Microsoft account. It uses two different forms of identity: your password, and a contact method (also known as security info).
Sign in to the Advanced security options page of your Microsoft Account. Sign in. Select Add a new way to sign in or verify then choose how you would like to receive security codes. Note: VOIP numbers cannot be added as a way to sign in or get verification codes.

10 Μαΐ 2022 · I am suspecting that your phone number is not being recognized by the system due to outdated security information on your account. What I can suggest is to try first different option like choosing an alternate email address to receive the code.
20 Μαρ 2024 · To start, I would recommend checking your spam or junk folder to see if the verification code email was filtered there. If you still can't find it, you can try requesting another verification code by clicking on the "Resend code" button on the sign-in page.
