Current fares. Fare media. MetroCard is accepted on MTA Regional buses, the New York City Subway, Metro North's Hudson Rail Link, the Staten Island Railway, PATH, Roosevelt Island Tramway, AirTrain JFK, Nassau Inter-County Express, and Bee-Line Bus.
The price of a single ticket on the New York subway is US$ 2.90. If you plan to use public transport frequently, we recommend paying with OMNY , as from the 12th trip onwards the weekly fare will be US$ 34.80.
Changes to New York City Transit fares. The base fare for subway, local buses and paratransit increased 15 cents, from $2.75 to $2.90. The 7-Day Unlimited Ride pass increased from $33 to $34, and the 30-Day Unlimited Ride pass increased from $127 to $132.
New York MetroCard prices. A single ride is $2.90 and tickets are sold at vending machines. A 7-day MetroCard costs $34.00 and is a popular New York subway pass option. Some contactless bank cards can tap on and off through the OMNY system.
