5 Ιουν 2023 · Peptic ulcer disease (PUD) is characterized by discontinuation in the inner lining of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract because of gastric acid secretion or pepsin. It extends into the muscularis propria layer of the gastric epithelium. It usually occurs in the stomach and proximal duodenum.
The JSGE revised the third edition of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines for peptic ulcer disease in 2020 and created an English version. The guidelines cover epidemiology, H. pylori eradication, NSAID- and LDA-related ulcers, idiopathic ulcers, remnant gastric ulcers, and perforation and stenosis.
