In physics, spacetime, also called the space-time continuum, is a mathematical model that fuses the three dimensions of space and the one dimension of time into a single four-dimensional continuum.
In this guest lecture, he describes how the most accomplished physicists of the mid-to-late 19 th century were thinking about motion of bodies through space and time, and how, at the end of that century, a rather young and very little-known person named Albert Einstein began asking similar questions but often in very different ways. Space-time, in physical science, single concept that recognizes the union of space and time, first proposed by the mathematician Hermann Minkowski in 1908 as a way to reformulate Albert Einstein’s special theory of relativity (1905). Learn more about space-time in this article.
They describe a universe consisting of bodies moving with clockwork predicatability on a stage of absolute space and time. They were used to create the machines that launched two waves of industrial revolution — the first one powered by steam and the second one powered by electric current.

Physically, these three regions into which space-time around a given point is divided have an interesting physical relationship to that point: a physical object or a signal can get from a point in region $2$ to the event $O$ by moving along at a speed less than the speed of light.
