A plan drawing is a drawing on a horizontal plane showing a view from above. An Elevation drawing is drawn on a vertical plane showing a vertical depiction.

In basic terms, a plan is a birds-eye view of a space. When drawing a floor plan, the roof would be removed so the interior space can be seen. This is an elevation view. An elevation is a view from the side of an object, when drawing interior elevations, this would represent one of the walls.
15 Δεκ 2022 · Plan, section, and elevation drawings are 2D representations of a 3D object. By combining all the visuals together, it allows for an accurate representation of a proposed design or space. Each drawing is slightly different: Plan drawings show a birds-eye view of a space.
When drafting a plan, section, or elevation it is often helpful to lightly block out the building to confirm the relationships, proportions, and dimensions. You can then go over your construction lines and adjust the line weights to make the drawing easier to read.
