An equation of state is presented for the thermodynamic properties of propane that is valid for temperatures from the triple point temperature (85.525 K) to 650 K and for pressures up to 1000 MPa. The formulation can be used for the calculation of all thermodynamic properties, including density, heat capacity, speed of
thermodynamic, and transport properties of propane for process design and operations. Tables are provided for gaseous and liquid propane at temperatures between 90 and 600 K at pressures to 20 MPa. One table provides properties at the conditions of liquid-vapor equilibrium (saturation properties).

The p-ρ-T behavior of high-purity (99.999 %) propane was measured from 265 K to 500 K with pressures to 36 MPa using a two-sinker densimeter. The measurements extend from low-density vapor to compressed liquid
