18 Δεκ 2018 · I want to know if its possible to keep the PC in a sleep state and only wake up via Steam Link when I turn it on and then have my PC go back to sleep when I'm done using Steam Link. If so, how do I set it up to behave this way.

8 Σεπ 2022 · The best thing you can do for downloading games overnight is to disable sleep mode on your PC. You can also schedule when your games download on Steam (or similar clients) to take advantage of downloading overnight.
19 Μαρ 2013 · The downloading program (Steam) needs to reset the system idle timer by calling SetThreadExecutionState with ES_SYSTEM_REQUIRED.
Switching Steam to the game library removes the video lock and allows the PC to sleep, etc. This isn't the first time this has happened, its happened a few times over the years. I fixed mine by setting the Steam startup location to Library instead of Store. Steam > Settings > Interface > Start Up Location > Library.
1 Αυγ 2022 · As we said above, Steam can't download games when your computer is in Sleep Mode. But, if you find yourself confronted by an enormous download, and want to try downloading it overnight, you can. You can tweak settings on your computer to stop it from automatically shutting down.
In my experience, I believe small updates happen automatically (not sure if it is when my computer is sleeping or I just don’t notice once I turn it on), but if my computer sleeps while downloading a game, the download will pause. Go into your settings and turn off the sleep timer.
