Gastric cancer accounts for 783,000 deaths each year, making it the third most deadly cancer among males worldwide (Figure 5). 8.3% of all cancer deaths are attributable to gastric cancer. The cumulative risk of death from gastric cancer, from birth to age 74, is 1.36% for males and 0.57% for females [1].
