26 Μαΐ 2015 · Bonjour tout le monde, I'm looking for as many synonyms for 'il y a' as I can. In terms of context, I'm talking about 'there is/are' in a literal sense, i.e. 'there is a car on the roadside', 'there's plenty to do in the town centre', etc. Thanks in advance :)

"Eat the cost" is a common informal phrase. It's not slang but it's not high level formal either. It means instead of making money from the customer, when the mattress is returned they will give the money back and pay for the mattress themselves out of their own money (because they can't sell it to someone else).

18 Σεπ 2009 · They are synonyms and often interchangeable. However, the Merriam-Webster dictionary does not list "due date" as a word, maybe because it is a newer term. In a work setting, both are common. "The due date for completing the report/project is March 15." or "The deadline for completing the report/project is March 15."
