28 Απρ 2011 · OVERVIEW OF THE CASE. On 28 April 2011, the Kingdom of Cambodia submitted to the Court, by an Application filed in the Registry, a Request for interpretation of the Judgment rendered by the Court on 15 June 1962 in the case concerning the Temple of Preah Vihear (Cambodia v. Thailand).

The International Court of Justice decided in 1962 that the Temple of Preah Vihear, a Khmer ruin on a cliff in Cambodia, belonged to Cambodia and that Thailand had to withdraw its troops from the area. The case involved oral arguments, expert testimony, a film and aerial photographs as evidence.
