18 Φεβ 2016 · In education, student engagement refers to the degree of attention, curiosity, interest, optimism, and passion that students show when they are learning or being taught, which extends to the level of motivation they have to learn and progress in their education.

What Is Engagement? Engagement is a complex term that emphasises students’ various patterns in motivation, cognition, and behaviour (Appleton et al., 2008; Baron & Corbin, 2012; Fredricks et al., 2004; Phan & Ngu, 2014a; Sharma & Bhaumik, 2013).
Once student engagement in learning can be known and seen, teaching staff can react and align their teaching practice and learning resources to best support engagement and play their part to enable student engagement.
