16 Ιουν 2016 · The Cars of Adam 12. Cool cars for cool cops. The TV police patrol team of Malloy and Reed enjoyed the services of several different cars during the run of Adam 12. By Jack Stewart. If you’re a car guy of a certain age, chances are you have fond memories of the original Adam 12 TV series.
The pilot episode of Adam 12 used a 1967 Plymouth Belvedere police car on loan from the LAPD. (Later episodes used civilian cars modified by the studio to resemble police cars.) The Belvedere was Plymouth’s midsize car, and it could be had with a 383-cid V8 that put out 325 horsepower when equipped with a 4-barrel carburetor.

Vehicles. The police cars used in the series were central to the show; Webb "wanted the vehicle itself to be considered a character". [4] . As patrol officers, Malloy and Reed spent most of their time in their cruiser, and scenes set in or relating to their cruiser were central to the series.
Jim Reed: Yes sir, it's a police car. Pete Malloy: This black and white patrol car has an overhead valve V8 engine. It develops 325 horsepower at 4800 RPM's. It accelerates from 0 to 60 in seven seconds; it has a top speed of 120 miles an hour.
14 Απρ 2024 · The original Adam-12 car was purchased by NBC in 1967 for the production of a new police drama. It is a 1967 Plymouth Belvedere fitted with a 383-cubic-inch V8 engine and a three-speed automatic transmission. The car became notorious for its distinctive black and white paint scheme and its siren, which blared out the familiar “Adam-12” theme song.
