3. (1 Timothy 3:13) A promise for deacons. For those who have served well as deacons obtain for themselves a good standing and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus. a. For those who have served well as deacons: God remembers their faithful service, even in tasks which some would consider menial.
In the Old Testament, the God of Israel is often connected with peace, but he is never called ‘the God of peace’. Not until the Hellenistic period is this expression sporadically found in Judaism (once in the Testaments of the Twelve Patriarchs and once in Philo).
