23 Αυγ 2018 · You need to learn the CB radio code, as well as the CB lingo in order for you to be able to communicate with your friends or even strangers. These radios are an important asset – for truckers especially – as it keeps them connected to other truckers on the long road.
8 Νοε 2019 · Here is a list of CB 10 codes, often followed by what they mean (and what they truly mean). 10-1: Receiving poorly (I can’t hear you). 10-2: Receiving well (I can hear you). 10-3: Stop transmitting (Shut up). 10-4: Affirmative/I agree. 10-5: Relay message (Pass it on). 10-6: Busy/Hold on a second.
I'm not concerned with your police department or fire department 10 codes and how they differ (as in 10-42). I am concerned with it, if my list shows the police version and not what is commonly used on the CB radio.
The 10 codes, as short as they are are often shortened further in use. Therefore when asking someone their location, rather than saying 10-20, it is shortened to "what's your 20?" This is a fairly complete list of the Ten Codes.
14 Μαρ 2023 · Regardless of their origin, the codes became widely used by CB radio operators in the 1960s and 1970s. They were popularized in part by the 1975 movie "Smokey and the Bandit," which featured the use of CB radio and the 10-4 code ("message received").
When getting started, remember at least the following 10-codes: 10-1 Receiving Poorly 10-4 Ok, Message Received 10-5 Relay message 10-7 Out of Service, Leaving Air (you're going off the air) 10-8 In Service, subject to call (you're back on the air) 10-9 Repeat Message 10-10 Transmission Completed, Standing By (you'll be listening)
