24 Δεκ 2021 · To tune a 12-string guitar in standard, remember that the strings come in pairs. Tune the first set of strings to normal 6-string tuning (E A D G B E). Then tune the lower four paired strings an octave higher (E A D G). Finally, tune the higher two paired strings the same as normal (B & E).

To tune your 12-string, tune the E, A, D, and G string pairs within an octave of each other. For the remaining high B and E strings, tune their string pairs in unison to the same frequency. Diagram below.

12 Δεκ 2023 · Starting with the lowest, thickest string on the guitar, the standard tuning sequence for a 6-string guitar is EADGBE. The thickest string is the same note as the thinnest string, just an octave lower. On a 12-string guitar, the standard tuning sequence is eE aA dD gG BB EE.
In a 12 string guitar, the B and high E strings are tuned to the same octave and have the same size string. The sound of a 12 string guitar is very wide and open. Each string is doubled with another smaller or same-sized string making the sound a lot bigger than a normal 6 string guitar.
