CPU performance has really only increased marginally over the last 5 years so as long as you're not on a 4 core CPU from over 5 years ago you're fine for at least half of your CSGO performance if not more.
At the time us CS players languished with a broken game for literally years while Dota 2 got all the attention. Updates are coming through 10x much faster for CS2 now than they were when CSGO launched.
25 Οκτ 2023 · CS2 shows significantly higher CPU and GPU usage and is performing well, especially on new hardware. The game also loads a lot faster and faces reduced freezes and stutters. Of course, things will be improved with future updates. CS2 also appears to be GPU-bound, which helps performance in most modern PCs.
19 Φεβ 2024 · What is important is the 1% low fps, cs2 shows frame time and it's a great thing but it's hard to read. Ideally 1% low should not be lower than the monitor refresh rate. You can see it with FrameView, Rivatuner Statistics Server, CapFrameX and other apps idk about.
