  1. 13 Δεκ 2009 · The slide stop pin is in the link which is in between the lower lug and should contact the lug surface as it goes into battery. If the back of the guide rod head was contacting the lower lug, and it could have, but shouldn't, it would do it when in battery not at full recoil.

  2. If it still won’t go into battery and you have your extractor adjusted correctly, it could be your magazines (they look like ACT mags or Mec-gars?) or maybe your chamber is too tight. Edit: looks like this is a Commander, in which case, try 18-22 lbs.

  3. 14 Ιουν 2022 · Towards the end of my session (about 100 rounds) I began having a failure to go into battery. The rounds would start to chamber, but would not seat into the chamber. Some of the time I could press on the back of the slide and the slide would lock into battery.

  4. 23 Φεβ 2013 · I immediately I had significant trouble with it going into battery. Most often the slide was within an 1/8” of closing and would close with light thumb pressure, but occasionally it would stop about 3/16” from closing and the action would bind up and be difficult to move in either direction.

  5. I took it to a 1911 Smith and was told my barrel link was out of spec, so he swapped it (hardly charged me for it either). That helped a lot, but it still does it more often than I'd like. My next thing to try is to try and clean up the chamber.

  6. 31 Ιαν 2013 · A common symptom for a 1911 not going into battery is extractor tension. Too much tension won't allow the slide to fully go into battery occasionally. To check the extractor tension check out you a video on youtube.

  7. 5 Μαΐ 2011 · Firstly, upon inserting a fully-loaded magazine and releasing the slide lock, the pistol would occasionally fail to go into battery. The slide would move forward, but only part of the way; the round would be halfway into the chamber.
