25 Οκτ 2024 · 1943 steel pennies struck in Philadelphia are generally worth less than a dollar in lower grades. Coins graded XF40 – which the independent coin graders the PCGS describe as “extremely fine” – are worth around a dollar. Coins graded 60 and above are known as “mint state”.
In 1943, the Philadelphia Mint coined 684,628,670 Steel Pennies without mint marks. In January 2010, an AU 58 sold for $218,500. But an MS 68+ was $33,600 in November 2020. If the coin is magnetic, then it is, unfortunately, the common steel version and is not valuable in most cases. However, if your 1943 Cent does NOT stick to a magnet, this coin may possibly be genuine and should be researched further.

The 1943 steel penny has consistent values across its Philadelphia (no mint mark), Denver (“D” mint mark), and San Francisco (“S” mint mark) versions. Their values are low for all grades except the mid-to-high Mint-State grades.
28 Μαρ 2024 · A 1943 Steel Lincoln Wheat Cent with no mintmark (P) was struck at the Philadelphia Mint. Your coin seems to have original surfaces as its color is commensurate with a steel cent with light wear. I would say this would grade somewhere around AU53-AU55, and its value in the price guide currently in that condition is $0.70-$0.75.
