The Boss 429’s interior was rather basic in comparison to that of the Shelby series Mustangs during the latter half of their run. The 429 featured Ford’s standard Interior Decor Group, which included high-back bucket seats and deluxe seat belts.

Since the new engine was too large to fit in standard Mustang body, KarKraft was hired to modify the front-end of the car into a standard Sportsroof SCJ body. They took a 428 Mach 1 and changed the inner fenders, widening the shock towers, to made additional space.
The 1969 Mustang body was completely redesigned and different from the previous years. There was a fancy hardtop as well. The Grande, was a hardtop with special trim and a deluxe interior similar to the Mach 1’s interior. 1969 was the last year bench seats were offered in Mustangs.
1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 A new "luxury" model became available starting for 1969, available in only the hardtop body style. The 'Grande' featured a soft ride, 55 pounds (24.9 kg) of extra sound deadening, as well as deluxe interior with simulated wood trim.
Boss 429s used Mustang's plushest interior decor and an 8000-rpm tach. They were refreshingly clean outside, with simple decals, hood scoop, front spoiler, and Magnum 500 wheels. Air conditioning and automatic transmission were forbidden.
