Although Polaris Premium 4 is the only oil recommended for use in this engine, use of any API certified “SH” oil is allowable as long as it’s 0W-40. Page 64: Oil Check Always check and change the oil at the intervals outlined in the Periodic Maintenance Chart beginning on page 53.
30 Δεκ 2016 · 1969 and 1970 Boss 302 oil pans are different as well. Shown on the left is the 1969 version. This was used until about September or October of 1969.
The 302 cubic inch engine was introduced in 1968 to the Mustang and continued to be offered in 1970 although it was largely overshadowed by the newer more powerful engines. The Boss 302 engine continued to be offered in 1970 also.
23 Δεκ 2009 · For general street use and cruising, pretty much any off the shelf oil will do just fine; Dino, semi-synth, or full synth. The big issue is lack of ZDDP. Up until the last couple of years, you could use a diesel oil like Shell Rotella.
Galley plug is to be installed in oil galley behind distributor. Oil hole in plug provides distributor gear with additional lubrication for increased durability. Check for clearance to the starter index plate on the left bank. The core plug may require a clearance hole in the starter index plate.
