22 Ιουν 2023 · I have a 1976 Honda CB750 F1 with a charging problem. Last winter I installed a complete new wiring harness. She fired up great but after ± 100km it drained the battery. The things I checked: - stator coils al 0.8Ohm - stator coils make no contact to ground - rectifier diodes are ok - field coil 7.8Ohm (between the white and green wire)
If it is a daily rider, not trying to save any weight or space, I would recommend an AGM battery. For my 750 I used a scorpion AGM battery, it fit in factory location, does its jog, and it is sealed so no maintenance/filling.
Battery Load Test Charge the battery until a hydrometer shows that all cells are good, then load test the battery. You must start with a known good battery because the charging system is a two-way system, having both input and output. Consequently, battery faults dramatically affect charging system performance. Don’t skip this part. Charge ...
15 Ιαν 2018 · My CB 750 is not charging my battery while riding. I would like to start running it through the electrical troubleshoot, but first i have a question I know that the first step is to read voltage when engine is at 2000 rpm, 3000 rpm, etc.
7 Σεπ 2010 · Start with the wiring between the stator and rectifier, rectifier to regulator, and the regulator to the battery. Those old connections get weak, especially the stator to harness connector.
14 Δεκ 2021 · When the battery reaches 14.5V, the regulator reduces the voltage to the alternator, reducing output strength and preventing battery overcharge. If the battery exceeds 14.7V, the regulator clamps the alternator field coil power to zero (0V), effective shutting off the alternator.
19 Αυγ 2020 · Battery wasn't charging with the headlight on so I just stopped using it. I could ride for a month or so using the kick starter and then I would need to plug in the battery to charge it up. Thought maybe the voltage regulator was going out. Voltage would increase a little with RPM but never over 12.5v.
