  1. 3 Σεπ 2014 · 73 MGB (originally) had a White/Brown wire going to the spade connector (Not the 12v Lug) of Starter Solenoid (mounted to Starter). Other end (originally) connected to pin C2 of the Starter Relay. Trace that wire backwards, from the Solenoid, and see where it ends.

  2. 31 Ιουλ 2019 · A brown and white wire goes from the starter relay to one of the blade connectors on the solenoid. In my uploaded picture I have it connected to the left blade connector. This appears to be the larger of the two blades.

There I found a trick where you put the ignition to run and connect the c1 and c2 starter relay wires together.

  4. 30 Ιαν 2016 · It probably is a starter going South but, just for kicks you could swap the ignition and starter relays and see if it cranks. I don't recall seeing a relay fail intermittently, but I suppose anything is possible. If your non-cranking issue goes away you'll know the relay needs replacing.

  5. 15 Μαΐ 2020 · There is a brown wire that goes to the ignition switch which activates the solenoid and the white wire with a light green trace is the one that goes straight to the coil bypassing the ballast resistor.

  6. 10 Μαΐ 2020 · Finally, look at the connections on the starter solenoid; the posts for the battery and for the start switch are very close together; make sure there are no stray wire 'hairs' making a connection between the two.

  7. 1 Αυγ 2024 · There are 2 smaller cables with slip on spade connectors on the solenoid of the starter. On my car, which has a starter relay, a larger connector for a white with brown wire but also a second smaller connector for the white with green wire.
