Through the details of this chapter, Jesus reveals several lessons about His holy character. These include His: (1) love, (2) holiness, (3) mercy, (4) joy, (5) forgiveness, (6) faithfulness, and (7) justice. First, after the Jews built the Temple, God’s Shekinah Glory filled the Temple. God loved His people and desired to dwell with them.
Those who begin with the service of God, are likely to go on successfully in their own affairs. It was Solomon's praise, that what he undertook, he went through with; it was by the grace of God that he prospered in it. Let us then stand in awe, and sin not. Let us fear the Lord's displeasure, hope in his mercy, and walk in his commandments.

The Temple Dedicated. A. Dedication by God and man. 1. (2 Chronicles 7:1-3) The temple is dedicated by God with fire from heaven. When Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the temple.
Mark Boda: Having depicted the joyous closing to the festival in 7:10, the Chronicler brings the building and dedication account to a close with a summary note in 7:11, a technique that has been a regular feature in the Chronicler’s account of Solomon (1:1; 2:1; 3:1-2; 5:1; 7:11; 8:1, 16).
