19 Ιαν 2023 · The poverty guidelines continue to be derived from the Census Bureau's current official poverty thresholds; they are not derived from the Census Bureau's Supplemental Poverty Measure (SPM). The following guideline figures represent annual income.
The January 2024 poverty guidelines are calculated by taking the 2022 Census Bureau’s poverty thresholds and adjusting them for price changes between 2022 and 2023 using the Consumer Price Index (CPI-U).

2023 Poverty Guidelines: 48 Contiguous States (all states except AK and HI) For families/households with more than 14 persons, add $5,1400 for each additional person. For families/households with more than 14 persons, add $6,430 for each additional person.
2023 Poverty Guidelines for the 48 Contiguous States and the District of Columbia. For families/households with more than 8 persons, add $5,140 for each additional person. Then multiply by 2.00 for 200% of Poverty Guidelines (for OCS/CED).
