19 Φεβ 2019 · In this project, we will discuss traditional Transformer based design which use simple diodes and capacitor to convert the Alternating current into Direct Current and an optional voltage regulator to regulate the output DC voltage. The project will be an AC-DC converter using Transformer with an input voltage of 230V and output of 12V 1A.
In order to achieve a direct current voltage source, the alternating current input must follow a conversion process like the one shown in the power supply block diagram below. The image shows the main components of a basic power supply diagram and the waveforms at the beginning (AC input), at the end (DC output) and between blocks.
The AC to DC converter block diagram illustrates the various stages involved in converting AC power to DC power. The main components of an AC to DC converter include a transformer, rectifier diodes, filter capacitors, and voltage regulation circuitry.

The load is approximately 2kohms, so the maximum current that will flow is 100mA.And I have design restrictions, it needs to be small in size. 19 Νοε 2012 · This AC to DC converter circuit is capable of converting an alternative voltage within 70V – 260V range into a DC voltage within 180V to 350V DC range, so it can be used for 110V and 220V too.
