We booked Kandy to Ella train journey on 13th April 2022 (reserving just over 1 month before), reserving for $39.34USD, for two tickets for 2nd class seated. We ticked that if these were not available that we would take an upgrade.
Taking a train to get from Ella to Kandy is a safe, fast, and scenic option to travel the country. On certain routes, there are multiple train departures per day every 10 to 15 minutes.
21 Νοε 2024 · Here’s the Kandy to Ella train timetable (but maybe ask for more deetz at your accommodation if you’re itinerary in Sri Lanka is running on a tight schedule). There are four daily trains though I’d only recommend catching the first two (they’re the sexy blue Chinese trains).
