13 Ιαν 2020 · There are only 2 firing orders for the SBF- 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 (early 289/302) and 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 (5.0 and 351W). The firing order is determined by the camshaft. If you put a 5.0 or 351W cam in a 289 you have to change the plug wires in the cap to match the firing order.
7 Σεπ 2019 · Are you referring to the timing chain cover? 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 is the common firing order found on 289s and the intake valves are only the forward valve on the passenger side. They are the rear valves on the drivers side.
29 Μαρ 2011 · Install the cap and then the wires following the firing order and cylinder numbering as mentioned previously. This will get the timing close enough to start and fine tune. You don't have to have the #1 wire in the cap tower that is marked #1.
