SKF stainless steel bearings for increased reliability. SKF stainless steel deep groove ball bearings († fig. 1) are corrosion resistant when ex-posed to moisture and several other media. They can accommodate radial loads and axial loads acting in both directions.
AUSTENITIC STAINLESS STEEL GRADE. SA 316 is one of the basic grade of the stainless steels range. 2% Molybdenum bearing ensures better corrosion resistance than SA 304 grade, particularly regarding to uniform and localized corrosion.
Grade 316 is the standard molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade, second stainless steel in importance to 304. The molybdenum gives 316 better overall corrosion resistant properties than Grade 304, particularly higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments.

Stainless steel deep groove ball bearings (fig. 1) are corrosion resistant when exposed to moisture and several other media. They are available capped (with seals or shields) or open. Open bearings that are also available capped may have recesses in the ring side faces (fig. 2).
440 stainless steel bearings. For highly corrosive environments with very low load/speed, use 316 stainless steel bearings with a chemical or saltwater resistant lubricant. 316 stainless steel does have a lower rolling accuracy than full ceramic bearings, so these should also be considered. For high speed use, low to medium
MOUNTING PRACTICE. 316 Stainless Ring Characteristics. 316 stainless steel is a non-hardenable food and medical grade stainless. KMS 316 stainless raceways are a semi-precision, unground type.
