17 Μαρ 2023 · 351w Cylinder Numbers. There are many combinations, and one of the most popular is the 351W Cylinder Numbers; 1-3-5-7-2-6-5-4-8. This combination can be used in various engines, from the classic Ford 351W engine to a drag racing engine.
Identification. The quickest way to identify a Ford 351 Windsor engine is to count the number of bolts on the valve covers. The valve covers are located on the top of the engine, one on either side of the air cleaner, and each will have six bolts.
Early 351W cylinder heads have dog-leg cooling passages, making it necessary to modify intake manifold gaskets and passages. The 351W’s cylinder heads are a great budget horse-power swap for 289 and 302 engines because they employ the same block deck patterns.
18 Ιουλ 2005 · about the only real difference is the cylinder heads. the later heads, after 1976 iirc, are the same as the 302 heads as far as port size and valve size go. also the last couple of years they were designed for roller lifters. that said use what ever 351w block you find in good shape. they all can handle alot of power.
