351 Windsor Stats and Measurements. The 351 Windsor has a displacement of 351 cubic inches or 5.8 liters. The stock stroke of the engine is 3.5 inches and the stock cylinder bore is 4 inches. It has a distinct firing order from the other Ford Small Blocks, 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 vs 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8.

Ford 351 Windsor V8 Engine. The Ford 351 Windsor was first introduced in 1969 and was quite a breakthrough in regards to the ways Ford produced its V8 engines. When Ford introduced the 302 to replace the 289 the engines were very similar and even used the same pistons.
A wide variety of aftermarket cylinder heads are available for the 351 Windsor. These heads come in bare (only the finished casting) and assembled (heads with valves, valve springs, locks, retainers, and seals) configurations.
The block casting number does not necessarily identify the engine as a 351W, and a combination of different identification methods is recommended to positively identify it. Use the valve cover method along with the block casting number.
