Trial versions are available on the first page of the official website: https://www.rpgmakerweb.com/free-trials. Each test lasts 20 days. I bought all of them, except VX, years ago, for very low prices through Steam, which for me is much more convenient than having to enter the purchase code.

Wolf RPG Editor but if you want the latest version then it only supports Japanese. Another free program that can create RPGs is Gdevelop, but expect to build everything from scratch. The good side of it is you have more control over what you do.
