This fluorocarbon resin film tape designed to provide a leak resistance seal when used as a pipe thread sealant. Scotch® Thread Sealant and Lubricant 48 is an aggressive rubber resin adhesive with a resin- and varnish-absorptive acetate cloth backing.
Scotch® 48 Thread Sealant and Lubricant is a milky white unfused plastic film made of PTFE fluorocarbon resin. It is chemically inert, conformable, and stable through a temperature range of -450 ̊F (-268 ̊C) to 500 ̊F (260 ̊C); the film will fuse at 700 ̊F (374 ̊C). Also approved for use on high-presssure oxygen lines. CAUTION:
