9 Νοε 2012 · I have a Standard Progress 10" Unilathe and I'd like change the rocking tool post for one four way tool post. The ideal tool post may have a 3" square base and capability to hold 15/16" tools. It could be of very simple construction, I dont need indexing of 15 or 30degrees.
30 Απρ 2020 · In your pic on post #5 it looks like the bottom section of the 4 way tool post. On the bottom of the square tool block there is a little hole should have a stiff spring and a ball bearing in it, this will locate in the 4 shallow holes drilled into the round base.

12 Ιαν 2003 · This is pretty easy - put an indicator on the OD of the turret body, and jog the machine in Z. If this is out more than .0005-.0015 then you'll have to loosen the bolts holding the turret body onto the X-axis cross-slide, and rotate the turret body until you get it straight.

22 Φεβ 2016 · That is known as a 4-way tool post, one of the most solid and rigid posts made. However, it is a pain to adjust tool height and yes, you do have to shim your tools.
